FAB MKS Specification Table

INDIVIDUAL POINTS DEFINITION EXPLANATION

FAB MKS Technical specification (hereinafter only as TS) assists so the order for a specific project MKS was single-valued. Therefore it is vital to pay attention on the table on the next page, filling in is easier in an electronic form. Help or an offer of existing possibilities is included at some fields. You can download this table in an electronic form on www.fab.cz (in Czech).

PROJECT NAME (MKS LICENCE NUMBER):
In case the system already exists it is necessary to mention its title. That will considerably speed up the whole communication.

SUMMARY NOTE TO THE ORDER:
For general order specification
for example „production of only indicated positions“ or „MKS ZP FAB 2060, production in FAB“ etc. (ZP = zákaznický profil = customer profile).

MKS TYPE:
MKS FAB 2018, MKS FAB 2060, MKS FAB Control or MKS FAB Dynamic plus
FAB Service Centres may further specify ZP FAB 2018, ZP FAB 2060, FAB Dynamic. This fact is necessary to state into the note „Summary note to the order“.

CYLINDER TYPE:
according to a MKS FAB price list, i.e. FAB 2502BDCh, FAB 2379H, FAB 2035N, FAB 2066BN etc.

CYLINDER MEASUREMENTS:
see technical drawing of a cylinder in a table header (Technical specification) with A, B and L measurements.

IMPLEMENTATION:
B, BT3, 4            - „empty field“ (standard); B (higher resistance against drilling); 3 (BT 3); 4 (BT 4)
tooth, wheel      - D (DIN tooth); „empty field“ (FAB tooth); K10 (wheel 10 teeth); K12 (wheel 12 teeth)
surface finish     - „empty field“ (gloss brass); N (satin nickel); Ch (chrome satin); Ti (titanium satin)
knob                    - no knob „/“; „empty field“ (plastic); C (metal); CR (metal screw-in)

NO. OF LOCKS:
state number of locks specified the same way for a particular position

Note:
Locks with same competencies (own and main keys) is necessary to join under one sequence number like SU (společný uzávěr =  key like system).

NO. OF OWN KEYS:
This key only unlocks locks with the same sequence number.
natural number (1, 2 up to …) -  a key is included into a project, is so called “quantified”, supplied in a required quantity and it is possible to produce its copies of in the future.
any other indication apart from a natural number including an empty field or “0” means, that an own key in that particular position isn’t included into the project, won’t be “quantified” and it is not possible to claim it in the future

Note:
It is important to be aware of the fact that unnecessarily planned own keys reduce a number of combinations and restrict an expansion of a particular system.

MAIN KEY
This key has competencies for unlocking several various key. It is filled in top right columns (H1, H2 …).
Main keys with the same competencies are combined „under one marking“ of the MAIN Key (H1, H2 …). An unusual case of a main key is a GENERAL Key and unlocks all locks in a given MKS.

POLICIES AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MKS DESIGNING
combine locks into groups of key like systems (SU) which economize combinations. Place them under one lock or main key position in a project. Next rows in a sequence can be used but with the same sequence number, opening competencies (tick off) will of course be the same for those rows.
those entries with locks that are opened also by other own keys, this can be mentioned into a following row, for example: “This cylinder is opened: 0001, 0002 …”, it is necessary to state all sequence numbers of rows with those keys, in this case 0001 and 0002.

Cylinders in a master key system allow locking of door groups defined in advance with one key. High protective power consists in a use of overlapped profiles or keys with a side bar.
